I have a very small bathroom that i need to tile.When i ripped off the old tiles i then had to reskim some of the walls to the best of my ability,i would like to have the walls reskimed by a pro but cannot afford it.If i want to have nice flat walls can i put up some 6mm plywood and then tile to that? I cannot use 12mm around the door frame because the tiles will then overlap.

Shouldn' cost you too much to get a small area skimmed - how big of an area are we talking about? Is the wall that bad after your plastering that it can't be tiled over?
