no. with system full , turn flow side of rad off and crack the nut on the return side to allow water and air out of return.

Bit unlikely that the pump would work on an ideal but not on a Baxi, but who is to say the pump was okay when it went in?
I don’t trust anything that comes from ideal, nor would I trust someone who put an ideal pump in another brand.
Very odd that flow switch makes on ch but not on dhw, sounds like iffy switch, internal blockage, or iffy pump.
What did the diverter and hex look like inside when you took them out?
