Hope someone can help.

I've had my current boiler for three years - no problems with it at all, until yesterday when it didn't fire up in the morning. I flicked the reset switch a few times but nothing, so I left it planning on calling an engineer later on. But five minutes later it came on and stayed on without issue all day - nice toasty radiators as usual.

However same issue this morning - it won't fire up. The pressure gauge is at 0.5, which I think is too low. The hot water works fine though - as soon as you turn the hot tap on the boiler fires up and works fine but as soon as you turn the tap off the boiler switches off again.

Any ideas - does this sound like an easy fix? I don't have an instruction manual (boiler came with the hourse when I bought it).

Many thanks for the reply. Any idea how I top the pressure up - is there a valve I need to turn inside the boiler?

Many thanks again for your help - it's much appreciated.

I've now adjusted the pressure and the gauge is now sitting nicely in the green at about 2, however the same problem remains. Boiler fires up when I turn a hot water tap on but the CH is not working. As soon as you turn the hot tap off boiler goes off. The wireless thermostat is working and sending a signal but the boiler just won't fire up without a hot water tap being on.

What's my next step? Is my only solution an emergency central heating engineer? How do I source a good reliable one who won't rip me off? I don't know anyone in the area so have no one I can ask for a recommmendation.

Have you done anything with the thermostat RX unit?

It may need to be set to learn the signal from the TX unit.

If competent you could link the two connections from the RX unit to the boiler.
