Baxi Boston 2-60 won't heat the water

Hi just moved into a house and the heating and water heated fine ,but now the heating works but no hot water unless the heating is on aswell ! It's a Baxi Boston 2 60 floor standing heater that heats a water tank.
If i put the water on the boiler fires for about a min then switches off while making a boiling sound? seems to me if it's not pumping to the tank ? Really don't wanna buy a new boiler as we can do without the expense after just getting our first house Thanks

check the header tank in the loft has water in it (small one)

Next check any zone valves you may have are working.

If it is producing HW when the ch is on, I wouldn't think it is a blockage
