Hi,I've got a Baxi central heating system,it used to make a whoosh sound on start up and the a cooling down (tick, tick) noise after a few minutes and did this over and over -but now no noise-the pilot light is still on,but no hot water or radiators-any help greatly appreciated or even an engineer-I'm in the Fife area, thanks.

Afraid we'd gone to bed at that hour. I would check your controls are calling for heat, i.e. supplying power to the boiler. Unless there's 240v going to the boiler it wont do anything.

Thanks Hugh,I noticed the controller for the heat settings is loose ,would this cause the problem?.

just had engineer look at it,reckons it's a sticking gas valve.

just noticed pilot light has gone out 4 times tonight.,any ideas.
