As the title suggests my Baxi instant water is not getting hot.

I suspect the flow switch which I have dismantled, cleaned up and rebuilt.
I didn't remove the diaphragm when I cleaned it up and it still seems to be a bit stiff/slow operating when the hot water tap is opened.

My question is this - is it best to swop the flow switch or could it be the copper pipes running to the flow switch which have blocked/blocking ?

I suspect I may be reading too much into it and it is just a dodgy flow switch.

if the tubes are partially blocked the pin will norm run slowly in both directions, did ya check the diaphragm was ok?

forgot to put there no need to replace the valve as seal kits are cheap and easy to fit

Gaz,

thanks for the reply.

How would you check the diaphragm ? I visually had a look and couldn't see any damage or splits from the lp side. I didn't remove it though, I didn't want to break the seal. AM I right in thinking if it was the diaphragm the switch just wouldn't operate ?

When I cleaned up the switch it worked ok for a few goes then got slow again. Strangely if you have the pre heat on then the switch operates when the hot tap is turned on, but if the pre heat is off the switch won't work.

How much are the kits ?

Rather than mess around it may be worth just doing the kit thing :D

the hw diaphragm might just be worn...ie, they get stretched after time so it will work to a point, it doesn1t have to be split for it not to work properly..... they are cheap and easy to replace

Tried PTS for the diaphragm/seal kit and they don't supply it.

I would appreciate any recommendations for companies that may supply these kits.

Sorry for the late feedback.

So ~I checked the tappings and they where clear. I decided to buy the diaphragm. Strangely it is called a dp switch and not a flow switch, I know they are one and the same in this instance but the lad in PTS didn't know what he was talking about and it took ages to get it clear.

PTS tried to sell me the whole assembly for over £60. I did a bit of research on net and found the correct part number for the diaphragm.
A grand total of £5.50.

Replaced and it works just fine.

Great result.

thanks for yur help
