Where did you obtain this “spare” cartridge? I would have just replaced the whole PRV - it’s a safety device.

If it’s available as a spare then and it’s correct then unscrew the existing one and replace with that one, simples
And if that is the case, make sure you dress the valve seat to avoid a bad seal. i've never seen such a spare.
So how would you twist the cartridge anti-clockwise without a spanner or grips? I doubt if turning the knob would achieve the desired effect.
