BBC scared of calling Trump "the most corrupt president in history (which he demonstrably is)

According to you.

According to the US people, who get to decide such things, he's their president. So we respect that.

The choices weren't particularly great... it was him or a seemingly drunk crazy woman who wanted a war with Russia.
You must have very low standards if you think he is fit to be potus.

I don't care what party is elected over there. But I do care about people like him, who have influence over us

I don't understand why all the rwr have such low standards. It's not just you.

In the last GE there was a very low turnout, the lowest ever IIRC. This was because there was not a lot of choice - almost all of the parties were "centre left and left wing" as you put it. British people are conservative - we want to conserve Britain but there was little conservative option.

Those that did vote consisted of foreigners, dole-drawers and the anti-British British, i.e. people who should not have had the vote.

This government is illegitimate. It is a major fault in our voting system that those who do not contribute and only take, are allowed the vote.
There was a Tory party already in power. People realised they didn't want more of it.
A fair vote, it's how our system, for all it's faults, works.

We don't want the russian system here. I believe the results of the next election over there are being calculated already. Once they get the results they can vote for it

I don't know or care whether he's "fit" to be according to me, you, our PM, the king or god himself.

He's been elected, by the people he represents. So our opinions are irrelevant, and we should shut up about his suitability, for the benefit of international relations, and ultimately for our own good.

No, that's just burying your head in the sand

You should stand up and object to such people, especially if they have influence over us.

Do you really not understand how the world works?

He's not the world president, just the president of a major country that we don't live in.

We can say we disagree with his approach to a specific issue, we can't say he shouldn't have his job.

Most people in most countries wouldn't react positively to foreigners saying their elected leader shouldn't be in their job.

Much as I'd like the outcome, I wouldn't think it was good if a foreign state-backed broadcaster started demanding Starmer's resignation.

Yes, it appears you might not
He's not the world president, just the president of a major country that we don't live in.
And that country has massive influence over us, and the world
We can say we disagree with his approach to a specific issue, we can't say he shouldn't have his job.
If course we can, just look at his history. Or do you have no morals ?
Most people in most countries wouldn't react positively to foreigners saying their elected leader shouldn't be in their job.
What about russian and American influence in ours ?
Much as I'd like the outcome, I wouldn't think it was good if a foreign state-backed broadcaster started demanding Starmer's resignation.
But that's what Trump and his cohorts are doing

I don't think anyone official from the US has suggested Starmer's not fit for his job, even though that's abundantly obvious.

But we're just not a world player now, we just need to mind our own business and concentrate on life here rather than jet-setting around the world playing let's pretend we're a world leader. The world laughs at Starmer, he's an idiot.

If you want to put your head in the sand and ignore what goes on in the world, affecting us, then you carry on.

Is Starmer the best leader ? No. but compared to what's gone before, in our recent history, then he is still head and shoulders above.

It's not about putting our head in the sand, it should be about prioitising what's happening at home.

Every time there are issues, Never Here Kier jumps on a private jet and struts off to some world conference about nothing.

At most, he should be sending someone to most of these things.

It would be nice to discuss say the budget, without many of the posters taking it as an excuse to have a go at someone else.
Indeed I would be happy to discuss the budget sensibly.

The reality is that it is a difficult challenge to support the lowest paid and those needing the safety net whilst simultaneously supporting businesses and financial sector.
