BBC scared of calling Trump "the most corrupt president in history (which he demonstrably is)

It's not about putting our head in the sand, it should be about prioitising what's happening at home.

Every time there are issues, Never Here Kier jumps on a private jet and struts off to some world conference about nothing.

At most, he should be sending someone to most of these things.
Yes, why on earth should we want to be involved in world wide issues.

You are so far to the right, you just can't see it's how Governments work.

All that bothers you is the current headline drummed into you.

Everything is the fault of the left, if only it was that easy

He's been elected, by the people he represents. So our opinions are irrelevant, and we should shut up about his suitability, for the benefit of international relations, and ultimately for our own good.

I'll agree with you on that.

Just as soon as he shuts up about the suitability of politicians and leaders outside of his country. Just as soon as he stops saying and doing things to countries other than his.

But for as long as he thinks his opinions about other countries are relevant he can <bleeping> well put up with people talking about him.

I'd say it's probably mostly right-middle common sense folk here.

But... lefties are far more likely to have little else to do all day so post more frequently. It doesn't take too long to fill in a few benefits forms and smoke a spliff, then there's not much else to do all day.

Lefties here, like in the UK in general, are a tiny but disproportionally noisy minority. Thankfully Farage knows this, and doesn't fear their disapproval as they can be safely ignored and left to shout and strop, people will eventually stop paying any attention to them.
Common sense eh?

How many of these “right-middle common sense folk” voted for Boris Johnson?

That resulted in:

1) hard Brexit significantly damaging U.K. economy
2) 1 million net migration levels
3) £4.2b spaffed up the wall on bogus PPE contracts and worst covid performance in Europe.

Common sense :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

This is how the right wing think:

If stoned doleys who've never worked are allowed to vote then why not toddlers?
there are people who think public school ex stockbroker millionaire establishment elite Farage will make their lives better……..find the bluntest chisel in the toolbox and grind the end off to make it blunter :ROFLMAO:

Trumpf’s entourage seem to be making millions from various international business ventures which are said to be independent of the presidency

"Trump sons’ bitcoin venture sheds almost 40% of its value in crypto turmoil

Company’s shares plummet as investors cash out at end of lock-up period

Shares in a US cryptocurrency miner backed by Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump shed almost two-fifths of their value on Tuesday as early investors cashed out en masse at the end of a lock-up period.

American Bitcoin closed 38.8 per cent lower, wiping roughly $1bn from its market value. Trading volume in the stock was almost 40 times the daily average, according to Bloomberg data.

Eric Trump attributed the sell-off to investors in a $215mn private placement in June exercising their ability to “cash in on their profits for the first time”.

This is “why we will see volatility” in the company’s share price, the president’s son said on X. “I’m holding all my [American Bitcoin] shares — I’m 100% committed to leading the industry.”

In the last GE there was a very low turnout, the lowest ever IIRC. This was because there was not a lot of choice - almost all of the parties were "centre left and left wing" as you put it. British people are conservative - we want to conserve Britain but there was little conservative option.

Reform and the Tories fielded candidates in virtually every constituency.

Yes Himmy, and as you well know, Labour got far more seats than they deserved. The Reform and the unConservative parties' votes (i.e. those of the taxpayers) totalled more than Labour's (the tax takers)

"Donald Trump Jr-backed start-up scores $600mn US federal government deal

President’s son’s fund 1789 Capital poised to capitalise from father’s administration

Companies backed by Donald Trump Jr have received regulatory relief from the US government

A little-known rare earths start-up with about 30 employees has won a blockbuster funding deal from the Pentagon, three months after Donald Trump Jr’s venture capital firm invested in the company. Vulcan Elements will receive a $620mn loan from the US defence department as part of a $1.4bn deal to increase the supply of magnets for industries alongside partner ReElement Technologies. The pact also includes more than $550mn in private financing and other federal incentives.

The loan, agreed last month, is the largest made by the Pentagon’s Office of Strategic Capital but only the latest federal government contract handed to companies backed by Trump Jr’s $1bn-plus investment fund."

British bra baroness must be envious,

"North Carolina-based Vulcan drew funding in August from 1789 Capital, a fund founded by pro-Trump donors in 2023. The US president’s son joined in 2024 and is a partner in the eight-person firm.

At least four of 1789’s portfolio companies have won contracts from the Trump administration this year, amounting to more than $735mn, according to analysis by the Financial Times. Other groups backed by Trump Jr have received regulatory relief. 1789 also invests in bigger government contractors, such as Anduril and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

The contracts raise new questions about conflicts of interest at the heart of the Trump administration and follow an array of pardons and other legal benefits doled out to the president’s donors."

Who could have seen that coming?
