Bearings for Hoover Dynamic Next 9Kg

Yes Harry, AI can't be fully trusted yet.

Also, yes, because nobody has given me an exact bearing part number, I am going to have to take the drum apart, get to the bearings and seal and order direct from their info.

Will the seal have a number on it?

I work in a school and we break up for Half Term in two weeks time, where I will have proper concentrated time to dismantle the machine and get to the parts. From there I can also see how old everything looks to see if the repair is worth it too!

Being a 1 parent Dad, I simply don't have the money to go an flash out on a new machine when something as simple as a bearing replacement is needed.

Thanks for staying with me on this very annoying situation.
;)

Will the seal have a number on it?

Possibly, but hopefully, you will have some digital calipers to hand, to measure the width, internal, and external diameter of the seal.

You also need a tube of sealant, which is suitable for resealing the outer drum. Most plastics these days have to be marked with a type code, these are some of them - https://www.coda-plastics.co.uk/blog/a-guide-to-plastics-and-resin-codes/

Looking forward to seeing the Youtube video, you make, whilst tackling it.

Again, thanks Harry, superb as aalways!

Yes, the sealant was my next port of call. Toolstation has what the chap in the video used. I am happy with that......

Toolstation sealant

The next thing is to get hold of some nuts and bolts....... would a spring washer be advisible to add to the each nut and bolt, do you think?

The chap suggests a 4mm nut and bolt.

in the video it clearly has the wrong heater in way to short

It's obviously a third world repair, judging by the conditions, and the element was a previous-botched repair, but the repair method seems valid for the bearing - were it not for the ham-fisted method of fitting them.

Yes it does look and sound like a third world repair but like you said the effort and steps to repair are excellently explained.

I will learn very much from his mistakes but most of all take my time.

As for the star washer suggestions - BRILLIANT!

Just got to work out how many, that won't be decided until the drum is out of the cabinet.

Just have to be careful tapping out the bearings aas I don't have the correct tool for it, but I have done it before.

This topic will go quiet for a couple of weeks whilst I wait but definitely not go dead!

Thank you everso much for your support so far!

Quite looking forward to the challenge actually!

Started late in the day today to remove the drum. What an absolute painfully frustrating job it is these days. Back in the day was bad enough!

Just struggling to get the actual drum out of the casing. The battle continues.

The drum is finally out! That's enough for me today as I have been off work with flu all week. Absolutely drained but hopefully tomorrow I can use my brand new hacksaw, bought for the occasion, to seperate the drums 'halfs'.

Any guesses to what the bearings are going to be? Hopefully I can tell you tomorrow.
