Just to be annoying, I work as an industrial chemist, one of the pictures on this website http://www.buildingpreservation.com/ as previously posted is of a gas chromatograph. This is for analysing volatile organics, not inorganic salts. The other picture I think is of an ICP (inductive couple plasma), which could be used for the analysis of salts but is really expensive to run. Both pictures look like they are from the 70s, all they need is a chemist with huge side burns and flares.
