Take Care

daisychain, when you have been here as jong as Joe & I you will start using one liners. Do you know why? No, of course you don't.

At the top of every page there the SEARCH facility. It is never used. I would suggest that 95% of all questions asked here have been asked before, many times.

People have 'searched' & found DIYnot & then then 'searched' again & found this sub Forum, there it ends. Instead of searching the Forum they need, they stop there and mostly ask a question that has been asked many many times before.

I've taken care thank you, I added the one liner below. Oh, & this one :p

One liners, they'll continue, won't they Joe! ;) And this one

Hi Europlex,

Thankyou for that information. There is a degree of logic in your 'one liner' reasoning as regards questions which have been answered previously, and I appreciate you pointing it out to me. Of course it must be frustrating when you are going over the same old questions which you have answered time and time again. The point is though, Europlex, I can't see the need to be 'callous' toward a member of the public who is merely here to seek advice. After all, if you went on another site and asked a perfectly innocent question I'm sure that you would have second thoughts about visiting that site again if all you could get out of them was something like " ... you're using the wrong cable you idiot, get back to your plumbing..". That's O.K. when we are actually working on a site installation, the guys can take that, but not when it's from a total stranger to someone who believes his question is legitimate. I don't think Joe, Alumni nor yourself are bad guys full stop, there's good in everyone. It would help though, if you merely added to your ' one liner' that the post in question has been answered before, and point them to the information you have given me this morning regarding 'top of page'. Why would a professional simply make a sweeping statement such as " .... that camera's no good ..." without giving some simple reasons for his way of thinking. It's wrong Europlex, and you know it is. From my own aspect, since you have confirmed that you shall continue this childish behaviour, then I have no alternative other than to cut you down when and wherever I see it happening, so that the person posting a question can see you for what you truly represent. As far as your 'one liner' in your last post, it's aimed directly at myself so I'm not bothered. When it constitutes an answer to a person submitting a genuine cry for help, then I shall intervene.

I would not worry too much. The OPs question has been answered.

Yes there are lots of trolls on these forums unfortunately. Some are no longer with us thankfully.

I remember once on another Forum relating to a sport I used to compete in and one particular person made it his every effort to bombard all the posts with patronising comments.

I remember going to a trade show and seeing this man at a stand.

He was the most forgetable person you could imagine. Overweight by some margin , unkempt and a bit sinister looking , the sort you would not like to take your young daughter on a picnic without a Police escort.
It's doubtful anyone would have purposely made conversation with this individual.

So don't worry about them and don't give them the satisfaction of worrying you.

Well, imitation wood, none of us have been banned from a Forum, have you?

Silly me of course you have, in one of your other guises wasn't it and a Pro Forum at that.

And on here, for trolling - several times.

yaleguy, or mdf290 in what ever guise at the time has, this forum and a Pro forum.

One other thing, I'm not a liar.

So how do you know that someone was banned from a pro site europlex ? Could it be that you are no longer on a pro site because you were also banned, or is it because your claim that you have been in the business for forty years is absolute nonsense. If you were working in our outfit you wouldn't have lasted forty minutes.

What a silly, inferred threat.

mdf290 HAS been banned several times under various guises.

Of course, we are more than happy for you to prove otherwise.
