With my installation being nearly 14 years old, the external bell box has a weathered appearance and no doubt the battery is totally dead, so im looking to replace it with a more modern one that has the brighter flashing leds etc etc. my system is an optima accenta 6 zone panel....Can you learned chaps recommend one, and are bell boxes these days still the same connection type....i think it was TADB :rolleyes:

Hi,

The TADB system is compatible with virtually every other sounder so the world's your oyster in that respect. Take a look at the Texecom and ADE sounders at www.securitywarehouse.co.uk to get some ideas. If you find your self struggling with units that feature TF (tamper feed) and so on, just come back to the forum and we'll sort it out, but going for a sounder which is virtually TADB would be the easiest option, possibly the Oddysey or Sonade if they are still around.

Take care.

Hi Sparkymarka,

No disrespects to you Sir, I am sure you have a wealth of experience. However, a 'one liner' comment does absolutely nothing to resolve the initial query. With your vast experience perhaps you could give us say four of five lines of comment, if you can stretch to that. Efiste2 is looking for advice and not 'one liners'. I don't use the Sonade, it was a suggestion that he looks at the various sounders. However, having said that, perhaps you could explain why the Sonade is 'rubbish'. Give your reasons, the number of Sonades sold in the U.K, what you base your claim on, the feedback you have had from customers, the problems encountered and so on. In that way you are helping Efiste2 in your constructive critique. There are too many 'one liners' on this forum. Perhaps you would be a gentleman and help to 'stamp out' this sad phenomena.

We look forward to your in depth analysis of the Sonade. Should you decline, then you are within the realms of just another 'one liner'

Best Wishes.

right..... they let in water via the backplate ( too many entry points) which in turn corrodes the pcb disabling the bell cut off function, not very nice when you have to go out in the middle of the night because the bell wont stop ringing.... fit a texecom or a pyronix if you want a fancy backlit unit..

That was easy, wouldn't you say ? Now, what have you done ? Well first and foremost you have helped me in particular to be wary of a Sonade, secondly you have helped the O.P. in his decision, thirdly any other member of the public browsing this forum shall also take your advice. Finally, you have acted like a true gentleman. Thank you for your help.

Alumni, it's you again !!! complete with your 'one liners' following me about. Better check the date of my post before you make snide comments. If you have nothing better to do, like answering a few genuine posts, then it may be better for you to spend your time on facebook rather than clutter up this site with your nonsense. You're not doing yourself any favours mate, people are laughing at you. Sparkymarka just came back with a genuine post, I expected him to because he's got what it takes to be on this forum. I admire him for it. Do you want to be admired on this forum, or do you want to be treated like dirt ? the option is yours. I shall not reply to another one liner from you so gently.

Alumni,

I didn't want it to come to this, but I have had to check your posts and there are a substantial amount in 'general discussion' which are not effectively addressing the problems encountered by the public. Generally your posts consist of one and at the most two sentences. There appears to be a high degree of sarcasm, inconsistency and disrespect. Of the posts checked, it appears that you have answered less than 500 as compared with your purported 2500 + 'one liners'. Should you close your profile in order to prevent my continued assessment of your contribution to the forum, it shall indicate that you have quite a lot to hide. I must inform you at this juncture that both admin and moderators may become involved.

@alumni

You keep going with your 'one liners' if daisychain can't cope perhaps he should leave a forum that has been running in a satisfactory manor for a very long time before he arrived.

Perhaps he should go to one of the Pro. forums with his 'holier-than-thou' attitude.

Cheers Euro.

He seems to think waxing literally, much of it nonsense, makes him correct.
Pointing out a simple error of his - and one he seems incapable of spotting and correcting - makes me a wrong 'un.

Europlex, you are not averse to using the useless 'one liner' yourself so it is completely understandable that you encourage someone else to follow your lead and to continue wasting valuable time and space on this forum. The whole point dear Sir, since you specialise in 'one liners', is that it has been going on for so long that you do not realise the damage you have caused and believe that everything is 'hunky dory' when in fact it has slowly and surely built to a degree that by it's very nature, the 'one liner' is having a detrimental effect on the DIY NOT forums, but you have conveniently not noticed it... turned a blind eye because you can get away with being obnoxious. The very thing that keeps me here is the fact that " I can cope ", So send in the clowns.
