I thought I’d start a thread to share good bank account deals.

I have a couple to share.
Chase 4.5% 1 year
Spring 4.11%
Cahoot (part of Santander) 4.05%
YBS 3.6% (not part of the faster payments scheme)

Please share. Obviously there are these pay £100 a month up to £2k etc type deals but they are a bit misleading.

I think it is now.
My other half had problems with them when buying a car she transferred the cash and nothing happened. Phoned them up and was told 2 business days.

It meant we had to leave the car and come back a couple of days later. This was ~15 months ago.

all mines are cynergy bank reasonable rates

keep in mind when chasing the best rates the difference between say 4.11 and 4.12% just isnt worth worrying about iff you have to register with a new bank to get it as in £5000 for 1 year at 4.11% is £205 at 4.12 its £206 so one pound extra

They are claiming Faster Payments. But the blurb then says next day. Faster Payments is supposed to be within two hours maximum. Very confusing:

Faster Payments. YBS will always send your payments through Faster Payments where possible. There is no charge and you can make online payments immediately at any time. Under normal circumstances a Faster Payment should arrive at the destination account the following working day after the transfer was made. However, this is not guaranteed and on occasions the transfer may take longer.

We've been using Marcus (Goldman Sachs) for years. No problems at all. Money in or out is instant, within minutes either way to/from Lloyds in our case.

Currently 3.75% interest, so not as competitive as they once were. But not enough incentive to bother moving. This includes a 0.49% "bonus", which has to be renewed every year. Just an irritation, if you forget you get less.

We also get interest on our Club Lloyds current account. But they keep reducing that by more than the BoE reduces by, it's 0.75% now. But better than the nothing you get from most banks. There are better options, I did look around but no better deals are available with a joint account. Many modern banks just don't offer them.

New customers only. :(

Tesco fixed rate saver 4.1% for 15 months, 4.03% if taking your interest monthly.
I tried. But my ex-wife stole the club card so I got stuck in a world of identity verification pain and gave up.

I find the spring one easy to use and you have a linked account, so it’s easy to pull and push funds. No idea who paragon bank is. (The owner).

NS&I - 4.07% fixed for 1 year, 4.00% if taking interest monthly.

We're currently getting 3.96% variable on post office but that ends on 7 March for us so will be moving it elsewhere after that time.

I like my instant account benefits, but have no idea what (paltry) interest it pays. Or any of the others, really. I get an email every now and again telling me to move money or face a downturn in interest.

It’s easy to get complacent. My Santander interest rates are pitiful. And of course we have all got used to F*A* interest after the financial crash, its only changed in the last few years.
