Using Zinc coated coach bolts on fencing posts etc.

What is the best grease or rust prevention to help prevent corrosion on the bolt and nut threads other than using Copper Grease.

Read that a Moly Grease could be good as it has molybdenum disulphide. ??

What are the bolts holding? Are you planning on taking them off in the future?
Are you near the sea? Are the posts (going to be) painted/stained/treated?

If you creosote the posts, this will also help to preserve any metalwork.

I've gone over to stainless now. I formerly used 10mm galvanised studding, and some of them rusted through and broke. I am a mile or two inland.

Studding works out cheaper than coachbolts in large fencing sizes. I get mine in cut lengths from an ebay supplier now, I find it tedious sawing or grinding through numerous pieces. You can get stainless anti-seize lube, I use nickel grease but it is a bit expensive.

I don't mind sawing ordinary galvanised studding because it is easy to cut.

Stainless C form washers and hex nuts are quite cheap. Ebay suppliers again. You can use nyloc if you want. I use SS screws and eyes exclusively around the garden now. They are not expensive but Chinese steel is poor quality and soft.

Returning to the original question, consider grease used for outboard motors.....Carlube do one, I think it's called Aquaslip or something. Loads of other makes on eBay.

Lithium based XHP 222 from Mobil is quite waterproof. Cost about £4 for a 400gram cartridge and for nuts and bolts a tube will last a very long time.
Ask a local garage if they have any, or it's equivalent, and if you can buy a tube. They may have a partial used one for you.

for stainless, you should a specific anti-seize lube or spray. Stainless can pick up, gall or cold-weld for no apparent reason if in contact with more of the same.

I was going to use some Silicone grease I have if its any good on stainless.
Which I use on the shower mixer valve and marine outboard engine internally.

you can get small tins from places that sell stainless screws. Or aerosols.

Big tins are expensive.

I have an aluminium vehicle with stainless screws and have to use nickel grease (can't use copper on ally)

This fellow sells lubes in small packs

I have bought certain items from here before
