Best place to mount outdoor socket on side of decking.

Hi, need some advice pls.
Existing old out door RCD socket keep tripping when on so I am replacing it.

The existing unit is really close to ground as mounted on side of raised decking and prone to get lots of bugs inside.

I don’t want to rewrite the underground cabling to house so can’t move unit up by much.

What’s best to do here? Make the cable entry holes from the bottom of socket unit as thin as can and not have any drain holes?

BTW. The decking is not near the house but is at end of the garden.

I highly recommend that you switch off the power to that abortion and get an electrician in to sort it out.

got electrician at the end. The original installation had a Nic certification believe it or not.

One thing noticed was the Earth wire was used as the return loop from the switch.
Electrician said that was done sometimes by electricians!
