Best Practice Question

Brass sockets, metal box. Which is the way to go ?

I) Cables connect earth to box, link earth from box to socket
ii) Cables connect earth to socket, link earth from socket to box
iii) One cable connects earth to box, the other to the socket. link between both.
iv) No consensus of opinion, makes no odds, do whichever you find easiest.

Take the cable to the socket first then connect a seperate fly lead to the metal k.o. box from the back of the socket.

Even if the box has a fixed lug - no excuse not to, 6 inches of 2.5 (or even 1.5) singles, and a few seconds of time!

Although best practice, it is'nt always necessary to earth the backbox but I will not re open this point. Better get in my bunker and wait for the barrage.
