Having gable end repointed as mortar coming away from the bricks in places. After the rain, this wall seems to stay wet for a long while and it does get most of the driving rain. Notice that even after the repointing water still seem to be quite visible on the wall.
Wall is abutted by garage roof which is traditional felt, I believe felt can be harmed by some silicone-based sealers. Water does get in the past roof as there is no cavity tray and difficult to remedy this as have blown-in insulation with no adhesive added so it's still loose.
Hoping sealing wall will preserve brickwork and minimise water ingress.
What's the best sealer to use on the brickwork that won't impact on the felt or other products used (Leadmate / Acrypol)?
