Hello

I asked a while back what was the best silicone for around showers etc . Dow Corning came top of the list.

However, their range is massive. For white silicone there is 781, 791, 785, 786, 796, 400 and Marine!!

All I want is it to stay 'white' for as long as possible!! :) ... so which one is it?

I'm drawn to the marine stuff ... my reasoning being is that it must be the best to use around boats!?

Any advise is appreciated

in the words of the big man " a cheap silicone can out do an expensive one if applied correctly."

post seems to have lost track a little

I'd appreciate some recommendations please?

Thanks in advance

according to that link then, the better stuff to use would be a low modulus neutral cure silicone, which from looking, Dow 785 is not!

I am not saying it might not be suitable thoug - I hope it is as I plan to use it to seal my tray!!

Low modulus silicone is not for bathrooms - it is for high movement joints. A seal around a bath/shower should not move that much. Just go for a decent sanitary sealant (like 785) and you'll be fine.
