We are having a wet room installed and have looked for tiles. We like Travertine but we are not sure whether they are suitable for a wet room.
any advice would be gratefully received.
A lot of people put it in their wetrooms - usually OK to do so , so long as you are aware of the practicalities.
Firstly, usually more expensive to buy a good quality trav (check out how 'filled'they are -also how cratered they are on the back, the bigger the worse);
Secondly, preparatory for tiler is greater -- more expensive adhesive, thorough sealing - and ongoing maintenence - otherwise potential staining.
Check weight restriction on any stud wall particularly.
Personally I go for a more practical approach everytime - good mat porcelain for floor and nice ceramic for wall !!
