What would be the best way to add a doorway or windows space to load bearing wall?
The wall is made of masonry blocks. Is it safe to remove 3-4 blocks (one block is 40cm in length) from the wall and then adding a beam without it collapsing? Thanks for all the info.

walls dont collapse when you take out 3 or blocks, if you took out 4 blocks at most all that would fall is the 3 above that, then the 2 above those 3 and the 1 above that, 6 in total in a triangle shape.
if you dont want to risk that happening use a strong boy, (you can hire them for a couple of quid a day)to hold them in place while you fit the lintel. (yes you will need to use a lintel)
