As you have a pair of 12v batteries available, why not add a 12v compressor to your sharabang and be the envy of other scooter users

As you have a pair of 12v batteries available,

Five actually, it runs on 60v. It will not do the batteries any good, to separately discharge one battery, of a matched series set.

It's only for emergencies, whilst out and about. At home, I have a big mains compressor, to blow tyres up.

how can it blow tyres up, if the cylinder, in front of the piston, cannot refill with air?

Those pumps blow air into the tyre on both the push and pull stroke, they are claimed to pump twice as fast as a result. The arrangement of valves inside the pump allows this to happen. Just try it on a tyre and check that it does actually increase the tyre pressure when you pump. I'm sure it will be fine.

That's what had me mystified, I couldn't understand how it could pump on both strokes.
