Hi - We’ve recently had the wall knocked down, steel installed and bifolds. I spoke with the joiner regarding the fitting of the bifolds and he said that whoever does the patio would just cut away this outer layer of bricks and build the patio up to the doors? I’ve attached the photos, is this something that should/could be done. Thanks

How do you want the patio? Flush with the top of the outer edge of the sill or flush with the bottom of the outer edge of the sill?

They look incorrectly fitted, they shouldn't be that far back.

Apart from being just wrong, the threshold is drained through the bottom of the frame. As it is there, the drains will be blocked and water has nowhere to go - except probably inside. I hope you haven't fully paid that joiner.

Notice those air bricks - it would be wise to not block those.

The most sensible option is a adequately constructed deck or standoff pads to allow airflow.

The bifolds look to be entirely the wrong size for the opening. The needs cil replaced with a deeper one, at the same time the DPC internally can be correctly lapped.
