Okay so I am not very good with explaining so I will keep ot as simple as I can

Straight to it I am looking at creating a
stud wall that are built flat onto the existing walls

The idea is to use a stud wall to step out part of the kitchen where I am building custom kitchen unit

I will be covering the stud in mdf rather then plaster board and then attaching the units to the stud wall

The idea is to use the new wall to step out and straighten the kitchen but also aid a rewire

I want to use mdf rather the plaster board for ascetic reasons

Sorry for my bad explanations and typing I am not very good

Is it safe to add a stud wall onto and existing wall

Can I cover in mdf

Ahoukd I insulate it or leave it empty

I am very technical minded and am qualified electrician and plumber

I am more of a worrier and want to dk things right at the same time as get the results I want

Yes, it's safe to do. The practicalities of using MDF in a room which will have excess humidity should be considered.

If the external walls are solid, then consider throwing some quilt insulation between the studs

Thanks woody

I am making all units using mdf so the thinking was using the same material for praticalltoy of ordering really

What would u recommend as good coverings for a stood wall in the kitchen

The units will be primed protected and painted as all kitchen units

Any recommendations for the stood wall would be amazing

Would a hard or soft plywood be better for the stud wall ?

Only part of this ply will show the rest will be behind units

And what does show will be cover in a plashback
