What a nightmare.....

For 12 years, he’s been hunting for his hard drive containing 649 million dollars worth of Bitcoin in a landfill. Today, his story is about to take a new turn. - One Workforce Hub https://share.google/IE7DaFyeioUjgv25G

Bet it's down the back of the sofa....

Bit coin is as over hyped as A 1 but tariffs have forced markets to come up with a magic money tree

On May 22, 2010, the first known commercial transaction using bitcoin occurred when programmer Laszlo Hanyecz bought two Papa John's pizzas for ₿10,000.

We have all done it. I lost 2 billion due to Lena spring cleaning one year and she put ours in the blue recycling bin. Oh how we laughed and still do to this day. We often wonder if our lives would be any different had she not done this funny thing.

stories like this have no real value other than the old saying off "don't put all your eggs in one basket " or "dont invest what you cant afford too loose"
i wont include "a fool and his money are soon parted" as some will gain as its a bit better than a pyramid scheme
its all about maximum information risk assessment and deciding at what point you want to free up some or all gains all will depend on your risk profile

if 1 is little risk and 10 is high risk i am at 0.5 with fixed rate [4.35] returns :giggle:

Except he didn't lose all that money because an investment went south, he literally lost physical possession of the money.

yes indeed its part off the story but its just another variable in what can go wrong in life in different ways when you choose a method where the normal methods off recovering the situation may not exist its just another point to note that can go wrong but as i say all part off the risk profile you can choose

My bitcoin should be worth a fair bit these days. I did have more but!! Too yummy...

Rumour has it Wait rose cash dispensers are offering a bit coin option.

Waitrose don't have cash dispensers.

Banks and ATM network operators have cash dispensers, some of which are in Waitrose stores.

I doubt any of them would tailor their machines, or change their network, to accommodate use of an unofficial digital currency which none of them want anything to do with.

Where did you hear this "rumour", and have you done any investigation of it?

Chocolate is poisonous to dogs.
Too much is. Our old dog ate some, we panicked, but after checking online found the amount she ate was not a problem. I'm not advocating giving chocolate to dogs though. That dog would snaffle anything, she had several freshly cooked Eccles cakes-that did require a stomach pump, she also pinched half of our daughters katsu curry when her head was turned.
