Hello I am blanking a 13 Amp FCU which used to operate a fire before we moved in.

There is currently a plastic back box, but the blanking plate we are using is metal.

I have bought some 2.5mm earth wire to earth the blank plate, do I just connect the earth wire to the blanking plate, then to to terminal strip matching earth to earth?.

I was also wondering if a 30amp terminal strip is too big/small for this project.

Finally, can i use the 2.5mm earth wire for my new metal light switches, to earth them to the back boxes, or do i need 1.5mm?

I have added some pictures.
Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Why not just connect the actual earth wires themselves to the blank plate?
Otherwise, the size of the connecting wire doesn't really matter.

30A connecting block will be alright, 20A will do.

Hi thanks for the reply, so you mean
Live and neutral into terminal strip and earth wire into blank plate instead of the terminal strip.
Does that mean I wont need to add any of my earth wire then.
Thanks.
