Use the slotted screw head ,wide bladed flat screwdriver on it ,whilst holding the knurled nut ( with grips if necessary ).
thought that just didn't want to loosen this screw in case!!
will wait to rad heats up

Only turn it a little at a time ,don't unscrew the thing !!!

unlikely to be a sealed system so should self fill, which boiler do you have ?

If the system is sealed / pressurised you may need to top up. If fed from an f&e tank it will top up on its own.
