Even if you swapped for the permeable blocks you would still have trouble because they have a different subbase that’s like a big soakaway.

I think you will just have to accept that when it rains you will get puddles.

If you want to go to the trouble of having it relaid you could create a slight "hump" across the middle so the front half drained back to the street and the back half drained into the aco's.

That option has crossed my mind. Will a hump be affected by two 4wd cars driving over it every day?

Not if done properly (the sub base would need re-profiling, not just the sharp sand). But don't get the ones who laid it flat back again.

Yes CDBE is spot on, that's how roads are laid, fall in all directions at least 1:40 really. The drive would have to be taken up, sand moved aside, hardcore added and compacted to the correct levels, and then resand and laid again. You might need some new blocks as the overall area of the paving would increase slightly, not sure about that. You would also need to make sure it drops to a suitable location e.g. flower bed or drain channel.
I would have expected it to take a small team a day to relay it, based on diying my own, as long as you don't have do do any drainage work. Get some quotes from contractors who understand the principles would be the best way.

Thanks both for the feedback. See what you mean with the drop as a hump and adequate drop each way. Will reach out to contractors to weigh up the cost.

I would be relatively happy with that - any of the options apart from taking the whole thing up and starting from the subsoil and installing drainage will leave more problems than you already have. I'd leave it as is but that's me if it drives you nuts only you can decide how much that's worth - hope it works out.

Yeah that’s more than likely will be what I do. I just wanted to understand my options. I was looking at “quick wins” but I’ll get used to I reckon. As I mentioned, it drains very quickly once it stops.

A flat area.
If I'd laid it i would have created a centre drain or crowned it.

It clears in an hour and the access tarmac holds water so although its not perfect its ok as its not a huge lake.

I'd jusy accept and forget it.

To have it re-laid you will be looking at at least £25 m2+ as it needs base work... Maybe more cost if its dished and needs a drainage gully, another? Cost.

Its cobble so they do allow decent rain soakaway and why it clears quite quickly.
