Through an unfortunate sequence of events one of my kitchen cupboard doors has come off the carcass. The screws of the hinge have ripped out the chipboard of the carcass so i can't just screw it back in.

Any obvious solutions?

I was thinking maybe: some kind of filler which i could screw back in to?

Don't know what would be appropriate though.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Your talking about the phat screws on the hinge plate?

Take the door off and grip fill the screws and the hinge plates to the carcass, let it dry.

Worth a try.

If you would prefer to fill Ronseal do a two part high performance filler that should fit the bill.

thanks for the suggestions

yup it's the wide screws.

just worried that the door is quite heavy so if i don't do a proper job it's going to do more and more damage to the carcass if it falls off again.

will give this a try, fingers crossed. cheers

Car body filler then drill a suitable size hole and off you go. Done it loads of times and never had a failure yet.

Can you hang the door from the other side of the carcass  just a thought

Perfecto, cheers. I'll give the filler a go, any probs and I'll hang the doors the other way.

Thanks for all the advice on this site, I've used it many times before for other stuff. Always invaluable
