Hi, I have fitted a new one and this hasnt really helped, Ive fiddled about with it and this hasnt really helped so now im completely stuck! Its a closed coupled toilet with an oval shaped push button flush, it flushes ok now but I cant stop the water from trickly into the pan continually. Any help would be magic! P.s. its not overflowing

if it's still flowing in to the pan then its either not shutting fully or the seal at the bottom is faulty.
did you check/clean the bottom part of the flush valve where the seal sits
when you fitted the new one ?

what make/model is the flush valve ?
sounds like a multikwik

Hi, I stupidly didnt take any pictures and dont know the name of it... It has a blue pole type thing in the middle that pushed up through a white circle and circled around the blue pole is a yellow cup, it also has a sort of float vale type looking upside down cup thing attached near the bottom and at either side two white poles - this is where you can unclip it and change it without taking the cistern off - best I can do im afraid. I did take it aprt and clean it all and the cistern as this is what I thought it could be down to....When I replaced it, I just unclipped it and left the bottom part in there but have since taken that all off to clean and tighten just to check its not that that was faulty

I think youll find it is overflowing modern w'cs are designed to flow in to the pan !!!!! :D adjust the height of water by adjusting the float valve.

is it like this ?

not being the best of valves around, i had alot of greif with one before.
you say you've fitted a new one, so that counts the seal out.
all you haven't changed is the base. but then rather than chuck money at it i'd rather buy a new valve but a descent make.
