board out before or after fitting stairs

fitting some pre-made stairs myself after being messed around by 3 chippys; is it the norm to fit the p/b first or to bolt the stairs to the wall then p/b afterwards?

I'm guessing board out first as it will be easier?

Boarding out first will be easier, prior to fitting the stairs, but if the wall being boarded has a ceiling joint, board the ceiling first, it makes the joint tidier.
