Hi. On one day to boiler bar was 0.7 when the system was cold. I filled it up but the valve jamed and the bar was 1.6. hen the HW came on te bar went up to 1.9. Then the CH came on the bar went up to 2.8.

I need help now. I have a Vaillant ecotec plus 630 system boiler. What valves should I use.

You have over pressurised the system.

When cold, reduce the pressure to around 1 - 1.2 bar.

Restart the heating and hot water and check again when warm.

Bleeding a rad is the simplest way, you need a radiator key and some loo roll or an old towel, open the bleed vent on the radiator and let the water run onto the towel. DON'T TAKE THE BLEED SCREW ALL THE WAY OUT OR YOU WILL GET A FLOOD. One turn will be enough. When the pressure has dropped to the required level, close the bleed vent. Simples.

I looked at the boiler yesterday and the bar when the system was cold was at 1.4-1.5 bar. It hos droped a bit. How much will the bar drop if the boiler is turn off for 1 week e.g for a holiday.

Is the PRV dripping outside (boiler overflow)

sounds like with that pressure increase when heating up there is an issue with the vessel
