Hi, following a nightmare weekend I could use some help please.
Barlo balmoral 45f boiler.
honeywell 3 way valve
grundfos pump etc
3 way valve broke a while ago so as it was summer hot water from immersion only. 3 way valve siezed in hw position.
when draining down system noticed both tanks in loft drained. found split in coil in hw tank in cupboard. simple change. new 3 way valve, 5 wires all same colours on old and new. easy swap. swapped tank, all fittings lined up nice and easy. refilled one tank in the loft at a time. no cross overs, seperate ball cocks. no water in overflows etc. job done.
or so i thought.
turned on hot water first. Boiler dint fire. fan didnt run. checked in manual, fault finding flow chart...says thermostat in boiler gone.
checked ch, same thing. no fan in boiler. room stat on max. hot water tank stat on 60. boiler on max. boiler stat was changed around april time. should it have gone again already? how can i test it? any ideas? 5 wires going to it. can i link two and see if all else works?
dont want to call heating engineer out again really as cost loads last time.
