I'm having issues with my Ideal Classic RS50 and I'd welcome any advice.
Basically, it's not firing up. When it's programmed to come on, you can hear it kicking in, with water rushing through the system and the pump coming on, but the boiler doesn't ignite.
To get it to fire up I have to press the ignition button - which is bizarre because it's only meant to be used to start the pilot. After that the boiler works fine for about 10 minutes and then switches off.
I thought the pump might be at fault - water not circulating properly so the system overheats and the boiler turns itself off. But the pump seem to be okay and anyway, that doesn't explain why the boiler isn't firing up from cold.
So far I've tried sludge remover and fiddling with all the radiators to help the circulation. I've also phoned the manufacturer and they think the problem might be the suppressor but they're far from sure.
Any ideas would be hugely appreciated.
