I need to replace my 12 year old boiler and I have been quoted the following:

-strip out and dispose existing boiler
-supply new bosch boiler to existing position with flue
-alter and recconnect pipe work to boiler
-run condensate to waste
-provide earth bonding to boiler and gas pipe as required
-supply and fit wireless optimiser/timeclock
-add chemical inhibitor to system upon completion
-5 years warranty

Company A - worcester bosch 30si (£1600)
Company B - worcester bosch 28ij (£1850) / worcester bosch 29cdi (£2100)

Just for comparison, I have also been quoted £2800 by British Gas for the Bosch 30Si...

How do these prices look?

They look like numbers.

We have no idea what the quotes involve

It involves replacing my old boiler with a new boiler and installing and condensate drain.

Sorry to hijack but does anybody know how long my piece of string is?

It could be
1600
Or
1850
Or
2100
Or
2800 if it is special British gas string

Hope that helps but maybe you should give more information or a picture of said string

Things that effect quotes

Current system
Proposed system
boiler position
pipework changes
chemical/power flush
new electric controls
central heating filters
building work required
radiators moved/renewed
radiator valves
run gas run (larger pipe)
etc
etc
etc

Then it would depend on whether one company is cutting comers and one is doing a proper job.

Go with the middle quote if you liked the guy or find somebody recommended
