Whats the best way to bond the pipe feeding shower? Is a earth clamp in roof space connected to earth in shower only way?

What type of shower is it, and what other bonding is there in the same room as it?

In that case I believe that the shower earth has to be bonded by an earth that connects to the other bonding points in that room and that runs back to the MET.

There is no requirement to run the supp. bonding back to the MET, Softus. its purpose is to keep everything in the bathroom at the same potential, whether that is the same potential as the MET is not really important (though in reality it'll be pretty close in most cases)

I'm now confused.

Only last week I was working in a bathroom where the electrician insisted on taking the SP back to the MET (at the BCO's insistence), but I've also read that BS7671 discourages this practice.

Softus, as 123 says supp bonding is only within the bathroom. However the main water stop tap (does this site allow the word 'cock') should be bonded back to the MET, in alot of bungalows this is in the bathroom, hence the possible confusion.

As for your main question all 'earthy' pipework and circuit cpc's that enter the bathroom should be bonded together.

So if the hot and cold pipes under sink are bonded together using 4mm earthing, is this ok? Or does it need to be bonded under the bath as well? You cannot gain access without a tool.
Will the shower be bonded inside its enclosure when the earth from the twin and earth is connected in there, or does it need a earth clamp putting on pipework in ceiling?

It depends on the make of shower. IIRC mira have a link from the shower circuit CPC to the water pipe.

This will be sufficient to add the shower to the supplimentary bonding providing the pipe work is continuous copper between the shower and the cold tap pipe.

So long as it it can be prooved that it is the same pipe that is supplying the sink, bath and toilet then this is ok, however you must also connect to any radiator and to the cpc of any circuit that enters the bathroom.

You may find that it is already bonded from the isolator switch.
