Border ideas

Hi,

My garden borders are a mass of weeds on account of me doing no gardening!

I want to dig it out and fill the borders with gravel.

A lot of the edging I see at b and q are £13 per M which seems expensive and it’s only wooden.

Anyone have any ideas of a cost effective way to do it? I could just use old planks?

For the border itself - weed membrane and gravel on top, right?

Steel edging, its not very cheap but it'd long lasting. Its what they use at National Trust

Gravel board? Timber boards are relatively cheap at a local to me landscape / garden centre at £5.70 for 3m and 25mm thick
