Deader than a dead thing that's very dead.

I haven't tried opening it up to see if it contains generic NiMH cells I could replace - does anyone know if that's a feasible idea?

AFAIK they're replaceable, generic new batteries aren't that much on eBay though...

Does anybody have experience of any generic copies of battery packs?

Seems like an area just made for the selling of products which work fine for a while and then go t**s-up.

You could try zapping them back to health but I've only done it to nicads not nimh. I believe nimh is capable of being zapped but without the success rate that nicads have.

Usually it's just a few of the cells that are gone titsup. Acquire another dead one for parts, or get some new sub-c cells from ebay. The 1.2v ones I believe.
