Does anybody know if a DeWalt 18V DE9503 2.6Ah NiMH battery would be compatible with the newer Nano drills which take a Lithium ION battery?

May seem a silly question but I have a friend who's bought a DCD925 drill which I think takes a Nano battery which is still yet to arrive though in the meantime he's picked up a 2.6Ah NiMH battery.
I know the newer chargers will charge all 3 battery types - NiCd/NiMH/Li-Ion.

It still seems like a silly question but hey, I don't know for sure so asking on his behalf!

i have that drill the nicads the 2.6 nmh and the li.ion batteries

some off the older tools need a slight alteration for the lion batteries to fit [2 x3mm holes in the plastic inside the battery opening in the tool]but they are fully interchangeable
the only restriction is the chargers will only charge the batteries out at the time they where designed

Yes, that drill with a DE9503 battery as pictured:

It's just that the bottom of the drill looks squarish and the DE9503 a little rounder.

as you happen to show it the charging point for the nmh is the little metal prong in the dividing wall between the main contacts
the li-ion uses the same contact but has an additional bit off plastic at the very top off the battery["L" shape]to stop it going in a nmh or nicad charger

if you look at some off the tools for sale you will see many square bottom tools with older batteries hanging out like a beer belly

But no restriction with the NiMH battery going into the DCD925 drill as you linked to?
