I've been after a 110v charger for my 18v lithium batteries but they don't put one out over here it seems.

Alternatively I could buy one from the states however I'm struggling to find anyone willing to post to the UK and keep it to a reasonable cost.

Has anyone tried replacing the transformer in one for 110v use?

i dont know if they will work ok here as 60hz compared to 50hz here
ebay do the whole import thing

What do you count as reasonable? Replica product from Australia, 37 quid delivered...

Will take from 100v to 240v, at either 50 or 60 Hz.

Is there any of these with a highert than 3amp output? Looking at it, suggests 60min to charge a 3ah battery, I use 7s so it will take far too long for it to be worth while; might get me out of the **** now and again but I doubt any more so than running over the canteen.

I didn't see any. What do you use now that is so quick then? The GAL 1880 CV?

I don't think just swapping a transformer would be a particularly simple job. I just opened a spare AL1820CV and the transformer is an 8 pin transformer, so not just something you could buy off the shelf. I presume it outputs various voltages, because that charger can do 14.4v OR 18v. And the control circuit chips are likely to use 5v.

Know anybody in or going to Jamaica? Their voltage is 110v 50Hz, just what you need! Find a Bosch dealer there and bring back a charger!!:p
