Capital punishment and corporal punishment seem to work in some countries.

executing them means they won't do it again + gives the wider population a sense of justice.

But back to the botched execution - in a country totally obsessed with guns, why don't they just shoot them, could even be a revenue raiser, plenty nutters in the US would pay serious money to fire their weapons off.

as to the woman who they failed to execute, i would give her a pardon, don't know why, but we probably shouldn't be executing women.

Women tend to get a better deal than men in the criminal justice system for similar crimes. Though overall they commit far less violent crime.

by my logic ? i never suggest the death penalty would reduce murder, only those execute could clearly not offend..

i would bring back the death penalty as a sense of justice, and in many ways a leniency, the firing squad has to be better than the rest of your natural...
