Where the three waste pipes meet in the guttering (upstairs flat), there is like a box section. In the last couple of months, when the bath is emptied, the water comes out of the pipe so fast it hits the side of the box and cascades out and down our wall. The pipes cannot be moved so is it possible to put higher sides on the box, buy a bigger box or place something on the end of the pipes to slow the water down? The guttering is plastic.

do you mean a hopper?

it is true to say, that some hoppers are deeper than others. if you were to shop around you may find a suitable hopper. fitting suitable terminal bends on the ends of the pipe helps with splashing too.

it would be even better if there were a plastic s.v.p. handy for you to boss into?

I am sorry I don't know what you mena. What is an svp?

s.v.p. is an acronym for soil vent pipe, and is sometimes visible if a toilet waste pipe exists a building externally.
