I'm doing my bathroom and am installing a concealed cistern.

Planning to build a mini stud wall in front of the cistern to conceal it and the piping.

Is it as simple as screwing some timber battens to the chipboard floor and side walls (plasterboard) and then nailing my piece of plasterboard to the battens? I'm planning on tiling the plasterboard before positioning a floor standing pan in front of it to connect to the concealed cistern.

Many Thanks, any help much appreciated.

Basically yes; but there are recognised procedures in building a stud wall;

You should also provide additional timber supports for the concealed cistern which is normally mounted on a steel sub frame. Don’t nail the plasterboard on, fix it with drywall screws, much easier & stronger & use screws for the studwork rather than nails. As it's a bathroom, use moisture resistant PB rather than ordinaly wall board.

you don't need a steel sub frame for the concealed cistern if you are having a floor standing wc - the steel frame tends only to be required when you are using a wall hung wc
