Bread knife

I use a Wusthof classic to slice my bread. £104 but I have seen them as low as £80. It’s the Omega of bread knives. Does the job, looks the part and gives others something to aspire to. ;)

Looks old! Is it still a good knife?

I don't find these too bad, though you can get a whole set for not much more
Thats what I have. Ok but doesn't shake me.

Does it take much electricity?
It hadn't crossed my mind before you mentioned it. Now that you have it has got me worried. I hope that it doesn't but the saving grace is that we have an EV so we get cheaper electric through the night, I am going to limit it's use to during the hours of 12am and 5.30am. Thanks for the heads up.

That appears to be a scalloped blade. IMO the serrated, or sawtooth, blade is better for bread.

I know people who like dense rye bread, I've never really thought about the sort of blade that needs.
