Thats a good lIkea, I'lll take a look

I bought the Dunelm one, it seems fine.

Lighter than my other knives because the blade is made of thinner steel

I think we all have a bread knife. I wouldn't have a clue what it weighs or where I bought it from, how much did it cost ? `certainly under a £1000 any knife in this price range will cut bread.

Surely he cannot be concerned that if he buys a bread knife that it may not cut bread? Bizzarre

I suppose your lack of interest explains why you didn't read this thread, or post on it

£104 for a knife? Surely this is just snob value?
I didn’t pay £104 for it. That’s what it could cost now if I needed to replace it. My one came in a set when the whole set was on sale, years ago. I think I paid around £250 ish for the set. 6 knives, a sharpening steel, a carving fork and a block stand.

I just want a decent knife to cut bread nicely. How have you lot turned it into an argument.

The Forum should be called DIYnotcases
Any bread knife advertised as a bread knife will cut bread, If you are just using it at home to cut your own bread and not commercialy to make sandwiches on a mass scale then a £10 knife will do the job for you.
