The kneading blade in my Panasonic bread maker is one of these:

The flat edge of the inside of it (which goes over the spindle) is steadily being rounded out, so much so that it won't be long before it's completely rounded out and so won't turn with the spindle.

I could buy a replacement but was wondering if there is a way to fix the current one, perhaps with some kind of a shim? Of course I'd need any shim to stay in place and I can't think of a way to do that in a way that is food safe.

Or is there a better way? Any ideas please?

Personally I’d go for the replacement blade, or maybe contact Panasonic for one of those nylon inserts.....I don’t think a shim would remain in place for long.
