2 people held there have their passports back and even better are at the airport ~ 1/2 hr ago. Not sure if the £400,000,000 has been paid back to Iran. There was talk of sending medical stuff to the same value. The 400 has been 500 at times. The USA flew money their to settle their debt a while ago. No other way of paying it.

There was an attempted court case while ago. It seems that some Iranians were invited here (maybe) but immigration deported them immediately so they couldn't attend the court.

It's enough to make you want to puke as that Truss woman is trying to take the limelight. It's people like this misfit and her boss that made this kidnapping last close to 6 years longer than it should have.

This poor lady is coming back home and the couple/family will enjoy but I hope they get the full support of the people/taxpayers and media in seeking compensation for the lost 6 years of her life due to the arrogance, selfishness and imbecilic behaviour by the gov of England.

I bet you every penny you don't have had it been some minister, mp or a cronie of the gov, they'd been back home within a week or so.

Nothing to do with Truss etc. Let's just face facts. They got released because we have probably agreed to buy a huge amount of oil and gas.
Ignore the £400m that we owed for not delivering tanks, we probably just offered billions for gas and oil.
Which they will use to build a bigger military, and eventually cause more unrest in the region.
But at least we can heat our homes and business, Putin's Russia suffers, and a few prisoners are released.

That is why there was talk of sending equiv value of medical stuff. Obama sent money. What form pass but it had to be flown there as no other way.

A proxy war via Saddam didn't achieve anything but maybe diplomacy may now. It looks like their nuke power station will get enlarged under the USA's current presidents lot. They may decide to be good boys in the future.
