Because we have spent 40+ years developing trade with the EU.
That means we have 759 trade agreements with 168 countries.
If we leave the EU, many of the 759 arrangements — from customs procedures and agricultural quotas, to the landing rights of planes — must be replaced, renegotiated or remade by Brexit Britain
It will take decades.
And a major reason why leaving is such a bad idea. However bad the EU are, being cut off from 759 trade arrangements will be 100x worse.
There are many other large countries in the world not in the EU that are doing very well, but they all have similar trade arrangements, bilateral and multilateral in place.

No I dont but they are less corrupt than the current lot in the UK.

So what. As you say, it’s taken us 4 decades to build trade agreements with the EU. How do you know that they won’t be better?
Because he hasn’t had the chance to look after himself and the person looking after him is more interested in his own health?
they wont be better.
the UK dont have the negotiating power of the EU, China, USA -so they wont be better.
But mostly it matters not whether they could be better, what matters is starting from zero agreements.
When the remoaners start believing what they say is fact simply because they want to call it that you know the whole debate has taken a wrong turn. Sorry I can’t take part anymore with that level of stupidity.- Joined

Dunno what you lot are going to find to moan about come November 1st. Still, you’ll all probably have moved to an EU country by then seeing as the UK is going to be so bad.....
