Brick lights

A paved parking area in front of the house with a low brick wall around 1½ sides, said wall to contain 3 or 4 brick lights...

And while I'm at it - what products are there that are equivalent to Pratley boxes for 3-way underground joints?

I was wondering if you were doing it yourself, and if you were capable (in the eyes of the law) of doing it, that's all

Don't forget your Building Notice fee. BCO will want to check your work

Bas the last set of brick lights I installed I used 1.5mm 3c swa between fittings & connected to 3 way galv besa box's with gasket & then filled them with R391 weatherproof compound (after testing) . From the besa box to the light I used singles enclosed in pliable conduit.

Similar to my plans, apart from the conduit box with compound, which I guess would work fine, but (and I hope you aren't offended) it seems a bit C&N...

My cables and boxes etc will all be buried - I'm actually going to have 2 parallel walls, 30-40cm apart, filled with soil to create a raised flowerbed, so I'm minded to use proper "buriable" junction boxes rather than a DIY solution. :?

Like the pliable conduit idea - were you able to gland it into the back of the lights OK? Do you think the entry would be IP56 or better?

Me offended never....granted I did miss the "to be buried" bit, in this case just use a IP rated plastic adaptable box or as you say it's a pratley joint box with line tapps/terminal blocks.
The install I did was on a retaining wall along a river so joints were above ground but the conduit dropped down the rear of wall by 4ft then through con block/ cavity to the light recessed in engineering bricks.

The brick lights should come with a plastic housing ( this is bricked into the wall then the metal rear housing of the light screws into it), I terminate the conduit to this plastic housing directly opposite the entry point in the metal housing of the light fitting.
Hope that makes sense.

That would certainly be my prefered method, if jointing can't be avoided altogether.

IP rated boxes will eventually fill with water when burried, and therefore IMO is not suitable. I have seen pratley boxes which have filled up too.
