I am looking at having brick slips on a wall that's been dot and dabbed/skimmed.
My concern is can the wall that's been dot and dabbed take the weight of the brick tiles ( roughly 36kg per m2) or would the plaster board need removing then hard walled or rendered instead?
Dot and dabbed to me doesnt seem strong enough?

I recently had some samples delivered and it said specifically not for dot and dab. Strange as I agree that it’ll be absolutely fine. Can’t be a much higher weight to area than thickish tiles. I’ll take my chances...

Even though it's been plastered? I read somewhere the strength of plaster board is 33kg m2 but if plastered 22kg m2.
Not sure that's right though ?

No idea tbh, unless someone’s got a brick slip related horror story I think we’ll be ok. Like I said, how many d&d walls are tiled with chunky tiles? If concerned, put a few fixings in.

Sounds about right, tiles will pull the plaster off the board.
